These are common diagnoses that you may hear from your doctor. You may have injured your shoulder with some form of trauma or the pain may have insidiously started one day.

No matter what the cause you should not have to live with the pain and we at PPT can teach you how to prevent and treat it.

There are multiple factors that contribute to your pain throughout the day and they will all be addressed throughout your treatment. The following are components that we will attempt to address,

but they may be performed in any order, depending on your particular weaknesses, aggravating factors, easing factors and your level of pain with each activity.

Manual Therapy: A hands on treatment approach to decrease the various stresses on the body before exercising. This helps improve the alignment prior to exercise.

Flexibility: stretches to address the pectoral muscles and spine that could be changing the position of the shoulder and therefore creating pain.

Strengthening: to help you gain control of the scapula and shoulder region. We will provide education and cueing to assure that you are performing the exercises correctly and not compensating with other muscles.

Mechanics: We will teach you the correct way to reach, sleep, etc. to assist you in controlling your pain with your daily activities.

Posture: We will teach you how to sit properly to help improve the position of your shoulder. We will also address your standing and reaching posture to help you to control your pain
